Several people have asked and wondered why or how did you choose owls. Well, when Samuel and I found out we were pregnant the first time we were cautiously excited. We didn't share with many people outside of our family and close friends. We had dreamed of this day for a while and throughout our fertility treatments had high hopes. I know I'm not the most girly girl but I had been online looking at baby stuff (what pregnant woman hasn't). I had found a few owl baby items and had just grown to like owls. I thought they were different and cute, however, I did not want a "theme" for our baby's room (when the time came) so I vetoed the owls. After we lost the first baby we were devastated but grew closer to God and each other knowing he had a plan. It took us by surprise when we were successful in our next attempt at pregnancy and even more surprised to find out it was twins. We were overjoyed. During our first sonogram the doctor saw the first baby and we were excited but within the next second she said "Oh, there are 2. Congratulations!" We all looked at the sonogram screen for a minute and the doctor said "It looks like owl eyes." My owls now had meaning. As Samuel and I got in the truck to drive away I just looked at him with my puppy dog eyes and asked if we could use owl stuff in their room. Of course he said yes, who could resist my cuteness:) We were back to our cautious excited state of mind but after hearing the babies heartbeats a few weeks later, I began looking for owl stuff and found the cutest fabric as our inspiration for their room. It just happened to have Samuel and my favorite colors blue and green. We didn't know what the gender of the babies were so we decided to go with it. The decor for the room is more for us at first anyway, right:)
Here is the first sonogram pic of our babies.
